JOHANNESBURG (IQNA) – Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque are major issues for the Muslim world and can be used for developing and enhancing unity among the world Muslims, a South African thinker, author and pro-Palestine activist said.

South African scholar Haroon Aziz

Speaking to IQNA, Haroon Aziz said the Quran’s commandments about unity are three parts: unity among Muslims, unity with the People of the Book (Christians and Jews) and unity based on humanity (unity among all people).

In fact, he said, these three types of unity can be an emphasis on the importance of Al-Aqsa Mosque (which is sacred for the three religions and is revered by all people).

The South African scholar underlined that Islam is a religion for all mankind.

He further highlighted the important role that university scholars and academic figures can play in promoting unity in the Islamic world.
